Today is the last day of school for Ninjette. It was her first full year of being in preschool at our local Montessori school and now it is time for end of the year teacher gifts, saying goodbye, and gearing up for summer.
The year was filled with new friends, lots of varied illnesses, many learning experiences, getting in the groove of new routines, and finally wearing underwear.
We are so thankful for our babysitters and teachers – they impacted Ninjette in so many wonderful ways. She’s grown in so many ways! She can write her own name, knows her letters and numbers, and continues to know exactly what she wants.
I learned that being a teacher is an incredible and amazing job and not everyone is cut out for it. I continue to admire them with utter gratefulness. I’ve come to treasure the walks to school and the conversations that have grown from them. It’s my favorite time of morning, even when we are running late.
I also learned that my three year old is way better at making friends than I am. I’m still trying to figure out how to make friends with the parents at her school and other parents in our neighborhood. I wish I could be like her.
We’re excited for summer and all the new lessons, conversations, experiences, and friends it will bring!
