This is the breath prayer that my spiritual director stinaburrows helped me come up with today. I’ve already said it so many times today and it has been incredibly healing. It has helped me to know that I am one of the beloved sheep and Jesus is my shepherd - who gives me everything I need and leads me to green pastures. Sometimes as moms, pastors, caregivers, we forget that we, too, are cared for and deeply appreciated, seen, and loved. I hope you are reminded by this breath prayer.

It’s been a busy and difficult season but I was so thankful to my wonderful friend khenslelowrance who asked me if I wanted take a basket weaving class. I, of course, said yes! Taking time to do something new and creative is always so restorative to me. I can’t believe I made this! Swipe through to see the facts. The one that hits me the hardest is Fact 3. My kid is 13 and they have been having to do active shooter drills since they were in 2nd grade. Most recently, my kid was doing the ALICE drill and as they were trying to barricade the classroom door, they saw a person playing the role of “shooter” peering through the window. Do you know what my kid said to me when telling me this? “Mom, if that was a real shooter, we probably would’ve all been dead.” This is NOT okay. And on Saturday, my friends and one of their sons were murdered in #allentexas with their other son still hospitalized from injuries. He just lost his entire family in a blink of an eye because of guns. And if I am being real here, also because of white supremacy.
